Claire Williams Research Professor-in-Residence Environmental Science

Bio
Dr. Williams holds a doctorate in forestry with a minor in genetics from North Carolina State University and in 2021, she completed a MA degree in Global Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill. While her career has been mostly academic, she has also worked for federal government, corporate research and international consulting sectors. She has been a tenured full professor at Texas A&M Faculty of Genetics and a visiting professor at several other universities. She served as AAAS Fellow in Science Diplomacy and science advisor at U.S. Dept of State鈥檚 Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs. Research is funded by John Simon Guggenheim award, DAAD, Bullard Fellow at Harvard, DOE, NSF, USDA, Winrock, NATO among others. She has authored over 100 papers and three other books. Her current projects are long-range transport of pollen allergen proteins, pollution content in modern desert dust storm content in the Middle East and a book titled Lost Pines Archipelago.
