Johannes Lange is an astrophysicist interested in galaxies, cosmology, and machine learning. His work focuses on analyzing large astronomical data sets to extract fundamental insights into our Universe: What are the properties of dark energy and dark matter? Does general relativity hold on cosmological scales? What is the relationship between galaxies and dark matter halos? He's a member of the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) collaboration and also works with data from other large-scale galaxy surveys like the Dark Energy Survey, the Hyper Suprime-Cam survey, and the Kilo-Degree Survey.
Before coming to 小蓝视频 in 2024, he completed his bachelor鈥檚 degree at the Free University of Berlin and a master鈥檚 degree from the University of Heidelberg. He completed his Ph.D. under the supervision of Frank van den Bosch at Yale University. Finally, during his postdoctoral career, he was a Cosmology Fellow appointed jointly by the University of California, Santa Cruz and Stanford University before being a Leinweber Fellow at the Leinweber Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Michigan.
