Following the approval of СÀ¶ÊÓƵ’s 2021 Campus Plan, СÀ¶ÊÓƵ is excited to work together with campus and neighborhood stakeholders to develop new spaces and opportunities that actively support all students’ well-being.

Two such projects that broke ground in 2023 and are currently underway are theÌýAlan and Amy Meltzer Center for Athletic Performance (Meltzer Center), and the Sports Center Annex (SCAN). Both projects are located near Reeves Field and Bender Arena and will be the first newly constructed athletics and health services facilitiesÌýon campus in more than 30 years.

The Meltzer Center, poised to be СÀ¶ÊÓƵ’s first net zero building, will be aÌýstate-of-the-art competition, practice, and training facility that will enhance the development of our student-athletes, and bolster the overall recreational experience for the entire СÀ¶ÊÓƵ community. The project broke ground in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, renovations to the SCAN will expand critical student support services that promote and foster overall well-being and will houseÌýthe Center for Well-Being Programs and Psychological Services.

Please continue to refer to this page for the latestÌýconstruction updatesÌýand other information regarding these projects.

The Glover Gate on Massachusetts Avenue is the primary access point for construction vehicles, with Fletcher Gate on Rockwood Parkway as a secondary access point. Davis Construction has installed directional signage for truck routing and is coordinating with subcontractors to ensure they utilize the approved route.

The civil infrastructure in the back of the building and the horizontal connections for the geothermal system are nearly complete.

Please note that utility work will be underway for the next 2-3 weeks installing the main water line for Meltzer as well as the building’s main electrical conduit. This work will temporarily limit access to the campus roadway adjacent to Leonard Hall. Fencing has beenÌýinstalled as a safety precaution and directional signage was placed along the fence to guide pedestrians through the area.

Community access to Reeves Field and Greenberg Track has been restored. When not in use by СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Athletics, neighbors are welcome to enjoy these amenities. As work proceeds to renovate the field in the coming months, additional information about access will be shared with the community.
