Sara E. Dumont has made many presentations on international education at national and international conferences and is coauthor of the chapter "Academic Credits and Grades in Study Abroad" for the NAFSA Guide to Education Abroad for Advisors and Administrators (3rd edition). She has served on the boards of directors of several major international education organizations and is a member of the Association of International Educators (NAFSA); Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA); and European Association for International Education (EAIE). Dumont also served on the board of advisors of the Yale Collection of Musical Instruments and is the author of German Secular Polyphonic Song in the Printed Editions 1570–1630: Italian Influences on the Poetry and Music(Garland Press, 1989).
