Dear СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Community,
I write today with an update on the committees formed for the searches for СÀ¶ÊÓƵ’s next Provost and Vice President of Advancement. ÌýBoth search committees will kick off this month and will work closely with search firms with deep experience in national searches for similar positions. Ìý
After close collaboration with the Faculty Senate Executive Committee, the provost search committee’s composition reflects a focus on shared governance. Search committee members were nominated by governance groups for faculty, staff, and students. ÌýTenure and term faculty were nominated through a process led by the Faculty Senate, while represented and administrative staff were nominated by union representatives and Staff Council. Students were nominated by the Undergraduate Student Senate, Graduate Leadership Council, and Student Bar Association. ÌýThe provost search committee will work closely with search firm Isaacson, Miller.

ÌýThe search committee includes faculty, staff, and student representatives who have worked closely with the advancement team and have relevant experience and expertise for this specialized position. The next step will be the formal charging of the search committees and the development of position profiles that will be shared with the university community and prospective candidates.
