Bio
Vicky was born in Argentina but grew up in her dad鈥檚 country of Paraguay; she was the first blind student in the country to attend a regular school, which she claims made her education an exciting experiment. After graduating with a BA in Education, a few years as a high school music teacher, and great curiosity for assistive technology as a user and an educator, Vicky came to the US in 2010 thanks to a Fulbright scholarship and got her Masters in Special Education focusing on Visual Impairment and Assistive technology at Eastern Michigan University. Back in Paraguay in 2013, she was tasked with building the newly founded disability resource center at Universidad Nacional de Asuncion, the first in higher education in the country. Vicky moved to the US in 2017 and spent four years as a teacher and AT specialist for students with visual impairment at DC Public Schools, until her transition to the ASAC in 2021. Music is her main hobbie, she's known back home for her singing though she prefers live performances over recording studios!
