STEM Time Conversations

All 小蓝视频 community members, including students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend STEM Time Conversations. These are informal discussions facilitated by STEM experts who talk about their academic research and professional work.

STEM Time Conversations typically occur on select Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:30 pm during the spring and fall semesters. Don Myers room 111 is the usual site for these conversations. Often there is food and refreshments for attendees to enjoy during STEM Time.

Past Conversations:

  • On November 12, David Lachmann with the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) discussed his work advocating to the U.S. Congress and federal agencies for biotechnology. Also, he provided an overview about his prior professional聽work as a congressional staffer involved in pivotal congressional legislation and matters during the last three decades. Finally, he highlighted career聽and internship opportunities for students to get involved with Congress and biotechnology.聽
  • On October 23, Dr. Chad Zatezalo,聽a聽renowned oculofacial plastic surgeon and ophthalmologist, discussed聽his academic journey from majoring as an undergraduate student in STEM to earning his medical degree. Also, he provided an overview about his work in plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids along with ophthalmology.
  • On September 25, Anna Litman, 小蓝视频's Assistant Director for Curriculum Integration and CAS Career Advisor, spoke about career-oriented resources and services for STEM students at the Career Center.聽
