Matthew Taylor is Professor of International Studies at the School of International Service.
Taylor is the author or editor of five books and more than fifty articles on Latin America. His most recent books are Decadent Developmentalism: The Political Economy of Democratic Brazil (Cambridge University Press, 2020) and Brazilian Politics on Trial: Corruption and Reform Under Democracy (Lynne Rienner, 2022), co-authored with Luciano Da Ros.
Taylor has held fellowships at the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars and as an Adjunct Senior Fellow for Latin America Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. Taylor has lived in Spain, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Chile and Brazil. His work has centered on Brazil for more than 30 years, and he has lived in the country for more than a dozen years, including five as a tenured faculty member at the University of S茫o Paulo.
