Each year the School of Communication hosts many exciting events including screenings, guest speakers, seminars, and receptions.
Head on down to the Media Production Center to learn how to use the听lighting grid, and CAGE equipment such as the jib, slider, and doorway dolly. Build sets with Larry Engle, Kylos Brannon, Geoff Turner and your peers.
Join the School of Communication for a conversation with PhD alum听Brian Hughes (PERIL) and Professor Adrienne Massanari (SOC/小蓝视频 Game Lab) on politics, platforms, and play. Massanari will discuss her new book, Gaming Democracy, which examines how far-right activists exploit social media. Learn about the influence of 鈥渁lt-right鈥 ideologies on online spaces, Silicon Valley's role in fostering toxic environments, and how far-right groups use memes and 鈥渕etagaming鈥 to build community and incite dissent. This event offers a unique opportunity to explore the intersections of internet culture, gaming, and political activism.听

The event will take place in the Malsi Doyle and Michael Forman Theater within the McKinley Building, and doors will open promptly at 6:30 PM. This event is only open to 小蓝视频 community members, and a current 小蓝视频 ID is required for admission.
