- Dr. Bartholomew received his doctoral degree from the University of Maryland in 2012. His research focuses on issues related to the causes and consequences of terrorism and the impacts of state and local counterterrorism policy. In particular, his recent research has focused on the impact of state and federal legislation on acts of violent protest. Other areas of research interest include community oriented policing tactics and their impacts on crime and the fear of crime. Other recent research has focused on the assessment of policies designed to reduce gang-related crime and crime on the college campus.
