Bio
Professor Malone is the Director, Key Executive Leadership Programs at 小蓝视频. He is a frequent guest lecturer on kindness, gratitude, emotional intelligence, compassion, ethics, mindfulness, and leadership at various organizations, professional associations, and universities including the Fulbright Scholars Program. His research and teaching interests include human motivation, kindness, leadership, ethics, and organizational behavior. Dr Malone is a retired Navy Captain. While in the Navy, he served in a number of leadership and policy roles including as a professor of biometrics and preventive medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences; Academic Director; and Dean of Academics for Navy Medicine. His most recent publications include: 鈥淭he Way Leaders Think,鈥 鈥淭he Trusting Leader,鈥 鈥淪elfies in the Workplace,鈥 鈥淜indness and Survival of the Fittest,鈥 鈥淕o Ahead, Laugh 鈥 Why Humor Makes for a Better Workplace,鈥 and 鈥淰ulnerABILITY - Can Managers Benefit from Extreme Exposure?鈥 His TED Talk, 鈥淭hinking about Time,鈥 is available at http://tedxtalks.ted.com and his co-edited book, The Handbook of Federal Leadership and Administration, was published in November 2016. His co-authored book Leading with Love and Laughter was released in Spring 2021. His new book Emotional Intelligence for Talent Development was released in October 2021.

Additional Information

Patrick Malone is an executive-in-residence where he teaches courses in public sector leadership, executive problem solving, organizational analysis, action learning, leadership ethics, and public administration in the policy process. He also serves as the director of 小蓝视频鈥檚 Key Executive Leadership Programs. He is a frequent guest lecturer on leadership and organizational dynamics in state and federal agencies, professional associations, and universities. He has extensive experience working with federal sector leaders from DHHS, EPA, IRS, USDA, HUD, DHS, and DoD among others. Professor Malone also regularly presents in international forums to government leaders from the Republic of Vietnam, Panama, Poland, Belgium, and Mauritius. His research interests and scholarship include work in public service motivation, leadership, ethics, and organizational behavior. He is one of only thirty researchers in the country certified to score the Subject/Object qualitative research methodology developed at Harvard University. Malone spent twenty-two years in the Department of Defense where he served in a number of senior leadership and policy roles including as a professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences; academic director; and dean of academics for Navy Medicine.
