Erdal Tekin is the Fotis Family Distinguished Professor of Health Policy in the School of Public Affairs at 小蓝视频, a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and a research fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA). He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management. He received a Ph.D. in Economics from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001.
Professor Tekin鈥檚 primary research interests are in health economics and the economics of risky behaviors and crime. Within these fields, he has worked on a wide range of questions on the determinants of risky health behaviors, delinquency, and crime as well as the effect of public policies and programs designed to reduce the prevalence of these behaviors and the costs associated with them. Aside from his primary research interests, he has also studied various aspects of the U.S. child care market. His scholarship has been published in both economics and interdisciplinary journals, including the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Economic Journal, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, and Health Affairs, among others. His research has been supported by U.S. and international organizations including the National Institutes of Health, Robert Wood Johnson Family Foundation, and the Danish Council for Independent Research.
