Cassel Hall

About The Hall

Cassell Hall is home toÌýapproximately 350 students. The building is designed for suite-style living, where two students living in one room share a private bathroom with students within the same suite. Suites for four students in two rooms, or six students in three rooms sharing a common area and bathroom are available.

The building stands above Cassell Fitness Center, open to all СÀ¶ÊÓƵ students. Nearby is the Woods Brown Amphitheater, a peaceful and eventful green space for the СÀ¶ÊÓƵ community. The building’s green features include nearly 5,000 square feet of ground-level green roof and a 46 percent decrease in water use relative to standard buildings of similar size. A rooftop solar thermal system heats water, while the entire building is fueled by green power. Materials used inside the building were selected to reduce the number of particulates and pollutants emitted. Over 90 percent of the building has a view of the outdoors; for СÀ¶ÊÓƵ students busy studying, these features reduce stress and promote wellness.

In-Hall Staff

In-hall staff include resident assistants (RAs) and a community director (CD). Cassell RAs live in the building,Ìýacting as peer educators and helping residents connect to their community. The Cassell community has one CD, a professional staff member who works with RAs to foster a living-learning environment to bridge the academic and residential experience.
