As part of our ongoing COVID-19 response and planning for the fall, we have continued engagement with WMATA to determine the feasibility of safely resuming the U鈥ASS program. Based on health and safety protocols and our planned return to in-person classes and residential experiences, we are pleased to announce that U鈥ASS will be active for the fall 2021 semester.
This unique transportation program is an important connection with the DC community, and we know our students rely on U鈥ASS for a variety of activities. U鈥ASS fees for the fall will remain at the pre-pandemic levels ($1/day, which totals $136/semester) and the activation date will be announced during the summer. Questions about the U鈥ASS program can be sent to upass@american.edu.
We hope this welcome news will support members of the community as they plan for the fall. We are looking forward to the resumption of on-campus classes and activities. U鈥ASS is an important link with our broader Washington, DC community and all the experiences and opportunities it can offer our students.
Sincerely,
