Constitution

FIRST: The name for this organization is Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, also know as APALSA.

SECOND: The period of duration is perpetual.

THIRD: The election of Executive Officers shall be as provided in the By-Laws.

FOURTH: The organization shall have members as provided in the By-Laws and the Constitution.

FIFTH: The mission statement of the organization shall be:

Asian Pacific American Law Student Association is dedicated to Asian Pacific American legal scholarship and cultural awareness at the 小蓝视频 Washington College of Law and within the District of Columbia area. Asian Pacific American Law Student Association continues to strive in its goal to bring cultural awareness to the student body at the 小蓝视频 Washington College of Law and to the legal community as a whole, representing a diverse group of people and advancing various interest of the Asian Pacific American community.

SIXTH: The organization shall be organized and operated exclusively for educational and cultural purposes, including:

a) Taking an active role in the Washington College of Law community by providing legal, cultural, and linguistic assistance where needed;

b) Contributing to such charitable programs as the Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, which provides legal assistance to the Asian and Asian American community in the District of Columbia area;

c) Sponsoring guest speakers on Asian American and minority legal issues at the law school;

d) Participate as an active charter of the National Asian Pacific American Law Student Association;

e) Develop a cooperative working relationship with the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association chapter of the District of Columbia.

SEVENTH: The organization shall act according to the provisions provided in its By-laws and Constitution, in accordance with the goals of the National Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, and under the guidance of the Washington College of Law Student Bar Association.

EIGHTH: Internal affairs of the organization shall also comply with the guidance of the Washington College of Law Student Bar Association.

NINTH: The principal office of the organization shall be 4300 Nebraska Ave, North West, Washington, District of Columbia 20016.

TENTH: The number of Executive Officers shall be seven (7) which may increase or decrease pursuant to the Bylaws.

ELEVENTH: This Constitution shall be amended as provided for in the Bylaws.
