Charles Duan is an assistant professor at 小蓝视频 Washington College of Law. His research focuses on how intellectual property and technology law interact with public policy and the public interest. He has written about patent law and drug pricing, copyright protection in legal texts, government use of patents, consumer interests in technology, and conflicts between regulation and intellectual property.
Duan previously was a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell Tech and a research fellow at Colorado Law School, working on National Science Foundation鈥揻unded Internet law research. He was also the director of technology and innovation policy at the R Street Institute, the director of the patent reform project at Public Knowledge, and a patent attorney at the law firm Knobbe Martens. In addition to his academic publications, he has authored over two hundred amicus curiae briefs, policy papers, administrative comments, and media articles, which have been cited in the Supreme Court and federal courts of appeals. He received an A.B. degree in Computer Science from Harvard College, and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
