Bio

Professor Phillips teaches communications and intellectual property law and serves as the Director of the Glushko-Samuelson Intellectual Property Law Clinic. She helped found the clinic and the law school鈥檚 Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property. She currently serves as Chair of the Advisory Board of the Program on International Communications Regulation and Policy and the faculty advisor to the Communications and Media Law Society . She was a Visiting Associate Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center and served as Acting Director of the Institute of Public Representation鈥檚 First Amendment and Media Law Clinic in 2008. In 2015 she was appointed by the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission to serve a two year term on the agency鈥檚 Consumer Advisory Committee. She received the law school鈥檚 Faculty Teaching and Service Award in 2015. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts. Her scholarship and advocacy explores the dynamic changes taking place in and intellectual property and information policy and the challenging public interest issues raised by these developments.
