PIJIP Offers Government Delegate Scholarships to Class on the WTO, WIPO & the Multilateral System

小蓝视频 Washington College of Law is pleased to announce the application for up to five (5) full-tuition scholarships for government delegates from developing countries to attend our annual course on WTO, WIPO and the Multilateral System, in Geneva, Switzerland June 11 - June 24, 2023. These scholarships are offered through a partnership of 小蓝视频 and the World Intellectual Property Organization to promote education, training and skills-building for WIPO member states.聽

Others may apply to join the course, including current law students for academic credit, through May 1 at PIJIP's summer program webpage.聽The course description follows:

International Trade and IP: International Rule Making and Dispute Settlement - WTO, WIPO and the Multilateral System

Geneva, Switzerland, June 11 - June 24, 2023, 9am-1pm

Professors Padideh Ala鈥檌 and Christine Haight Farley, 小蓝视频 Washington College of Law

This two-week course features lectures and activities at the World Trade Organization and World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. The course offers students an in-depth look at international issues in IP and trade over two consecutive weeks in Geneva, Switzerland. The unit on Intellectual Property in the Multilateral System, June 11-16, includes comparative study of international treaties on intellectual property, with a particular emphasis on treaties administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization and contemporary debates around the role of intellectual property in development. The unit on the WTO, June 19-24, provides an overview of the substantive areas of international economic relations that are governed by the WTO Agreements and look at the workings of the different WTO divisions. The course may be taken for a certificate of completion or transferable academic credit from 小蓝视频 Washington College of Law.
