Peter M. Cicchino Public Service Awards
Peter M. Cicchino (1960-2000) was a brilliant and creative 小蓝视频 Washington College of Law professor, scholar, and public interest lawyer.聽 The Peter M. Cicchino Fund is an endowed fund was created thanks to the generous philanthropy of the Peter M. Cicchino Social Justice Foundation.聽 This fund supports the Peter M. Cicchino聽 Awards for Outstanding Advocacy in Public Interest, given annually to three individuals.聽 The Cicchino Awards recognize and honor those students and alumni whose devotion to, and creative service in, the public interest exemplify the highest ideals of the Washington College of Law.
About Peter M. Cicchino
Peter M. Cicchino was an Assistant Professor of Law at 小蓝视频 Washington College of Law (小蓝视频WCL), where he taught Constitutional Law, Torts, Jurisprudence, and Sexual Orientation and the Law. He joined the 小蓝视频WCL faculty in 1998 after a distinguished career in public interest law. He founded and directed the Lesbian and Gay Youth Project of the Urban Justice Center, and, in that capacity for four years, provided legal representation for lesbian and gay street youth in New York City. He also served as a staff attorney in the national office of the ACLU and clerked for Justice Alan Handler of the New Jersey Supreme Court.
