Director

Dr. Samantha Bradshaw is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Foreign Policy & Global Security in the School of International Service at СÀ¶ÊÓƵ. Her research and public writing examine issues around technology, democracy, and security, including disinformation and foreign influence operations. As a leading expert on new technologies and democracy, Dr. Bradshaw’s research has been featured in outlets such as the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN and Bloomberg Magazine, and she has published in several academic journals, including New Media & Society, Political Communication, and the International Journal of Communication. Dr. Bradshaw obtained her D.Phil. from Oxford University in 2020 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University.Ìý

Director of ResearchÌý

William Akoto's research is primarily focused on examining the dynamics of interstate cyber conflict, particularly how states leverage cyber and other emerging technologies in the pursuit of national security objectives. Beyond this central theme but related to it, he also studies the political economy dynamics of international trade and military coups with a focus on the broad links between the global economy and the domestic political environment.ÌýHis work has appeared in various leading journals and edited volumes. Ìý

Managing Director Ìý

°Õ°ù±ð²âÌý±á±ð°ù°ù is an Assistant Professor in the department of Foreign Policy and Global Security at SIS. His research looks at the confluence of cybersecurity, technology markets, and national security including the power of non-state groups in cyberspace, the proliferation of offensive cyber capabilities, and the politics of technology design and security governance – collected under the Technology, Security, and the Geopolitics of the Firm project at CSINT. Outside of СÀ¶ÊÓƵ, Trey is Senior Director of the Cyber Statecraft Initiative at the Atlantic Council.  He previously worked as a Senior Security Strategist with Microsoft and held fellowships with the Hoover Institution and Harvard Kennedy School. His work has been featured in the Washington Post, Financial Times, Reuters, ProPublica, Foreign Policy, War on the Rocks, and Lawfare. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from George Washington University and a B.S. in Musical Theatre and Political Science from Northwestern University. Alexandra Klemer

Alexandra Klemer is a current second-year graduate student in the School of International Service's U.S. Foreign Policy and National Security program with a concentration in Transnational Security. Her research interests include critical and emerging technologies, transnational cyberterrorism, ethics and democracy in cyber space, and the future developments of war.

Anna Miskelley

Anna Miskelley is a current graduate student in the School of International Service’s U.S. Foreign Policy and National Security program. Her research interests include China’s military application of emerging technology, irregular warfare tactics, and artificial intelligence.

Christopher Barclay

Christopher Barclay is a graduate student in SIS's U.S. Foreign Policy and National Security program. He has researched accountability frameworks at the Stimson Center’s Cyber Program, explored tech and foreign policy economics, and honed language skills in Russian and Spanish. His research interests include cybersecurity, autonomy and AI, and ethical tech policy.

Kylieanne Broughton

Kylianne Broughton is an undergraduate pursuing a B.S. in Data Science and a B.A. in International Studies at СÀ¶ÊÓƵ. She’s a member of СÀ¶ÊÓƵ’s Community-Based Research program and a Junior Fellow at the Internet Governance Lab, where she studies AI governance. Her research interests include applied NLP and digitally-mediated disinformation.

Nathan Depew

Nathan Depew is a graduate of SIS'sÌýUS Foreign Policy & National Security program. He holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Santa Clara University, is a registered patent agent, and has worked in the manufacturing sector in Shenzhen, China. His research interests include cybersecurity, global alliances, great power competition, and semiconductor devices.

Siddhant Kishore

Siddhant Kishore is a current graduate student in the School of International Service's Global Governance, Politics, and Security Program, specializing in global security. His research interests include emerging technology in warfare, national security, and intelligence. Before joining SIS, Siddhant worked in the private sector and regional non-profit organizations.
