Funding your master's education and gaining practical experience

The following fellowships are available to help make education more affordable for current GEP students.聽

Additionally, the following organizations are examples of those offering internships of interest to GEP graduate students. Internships are a crucial part of the Global Environmental Politics experience. Recent internships have ranged from writing a white paper for the British Embassy in DC regarding national security implications of climate change to mapping conservation data of the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone for Greenpeace to identify potential sites for marine protected areas.

Fellowship Opportunities

Presidential Management Fellows

The was established by Executive Order in 1977 to attract to the Federal service outstanding men and women from a variety of academic disciplines and career paths who have a clear interest in and commitment to excellence in the leadership and management of public policies and programs. By drawing graduate students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, the PMF Program provides a continuing source of trained men and women to meet the future challenges of public service. Students apply to the PMF program the year before graduation.

Wildlife Conservation Society's聽Research Fellowships Program

With a maximum award of $15,000, who will work with Wildlife Conservation Society staff in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and in special cases, North America. The professionals receiving RFP grants will apply field-tested conservation science to the challenges facing the natural world, including聽climate change, ecosystem services, conservation and the quality of human life, and wildlife health.

Gloria Barron Scholarship

罢丑别听is awarded annually to support a graduate student in the research and preparation of a paper on an aspect of wilderness, with topics related to climate change strongly encouraged. The scholarship provides $15,000, although additional funding may be provided to pay for the recipient's travel expenses to work with staff members of the Wilderness Society on this project and for publishing and publicizing the final paper.

Education for Sustainable Energy Development (ESED)

The 聽supports outstanding master's students from developing countries or territories pursuing studies in sustainable energy development in order to foster the next generation of energy, climate, and electricity specialists. ESED awards between 6 and 10 scholarships annually with amounts of up to $21,000 per year.聽

Boren

support graduate students pursuing the study of languages, cultures, and world regions that are critical to US interests (including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East).聽Study of the countries of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand is excluded. Award amounts are determined by duration abroad, but can range from $12,000 to $24,000.聽

Annie's Sustainable Agriculture Scholarship

assists undergraduate and graduate students who are committed to supporting regenerative agriculture that protects and intentionally enhances natural resources and farm communities. Scholarships are awarded to students working to build soil health, fostering aboveground biodiveristy, and/or promoting resilient farm communities.聽

Royal Horticultural Society Interchange Fellowships

聽provides a ten-month non-credit work/study program in Great Britain. Opportunities are available for study, research, and practical work at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and Edinburgh and聽the聽gardens of the Royal Horticultural Society and the National Trust, among others. The scholarship provides funding for transportation, housing, tuition, and an allowance for personal needs.
