The LL.M./MBA is an innovative program that offers students the unique opportunity to earn an LL.M. from СÀ¶ÊÓƵWCL and an MBA degree from the Kogod School of Business within two years. The dual LL.M./MBA program allows students to develop both the legal and business skills necessary to tackle complex business transactions and to succeed in today’s global economy.

Admissions Process:

Applicants to the LL.M./MBA program must first receive admission from СÀ¶ÊÓƵWCL before being considered for admission to Kogod. After admission to СÀ¶ÊÓƵWCL, applicants should complete the  form and then request that СÀ¶ÊÓƵWCL forward their remaining application materials to Kogod for review and consideration, including TOEFL or IELTS scores. Students applying to the LL.M./MBA program are ²Ô´Ç³ÙÌýrequired to take the LSAT or GMAT exam.

Fees and Financial Information:

Students may apply for scholarships and tuition remission through СÀ¶ÊÓƵWCL when enrolled at СÀ¶ÊÓƵWCL.

Possible LL.M./MBA timelines:

Option 1

Year 1:  Fall – Kogod; Spring – Kogod, including Global consulting project

Year 2:  Fall – WCL; Spring – WCL and Kogod capstone 

Option 2 (WCL students must take more than 16 credits)

Year 1: Fall – WCL; Spring – WCL

Year 2:  Fall – Kogod; Spring – Kogod, including Global consulting project

Year 3:  Fall – WCL (international students must take at least 8 credits); Spring – Kogod capstone

Option 3

Year 1:  Spring – WCL; Summer – WCL (optional)

Year 2:  Fall – Kogod; Spring – Kogod, including Global consulting project

Year 3:  Fall – WCL (international students must take at least 8 credits); Spring – Kogod capstone

LL.M./MBA Degree Requirements:

Students enrolled in the LL.M./MBA dual degree must complete 16 credits in the LL.M. program (unless they are foreign trained lawyers and plan to sit for a bar exam) and 31 credits in the MBA program. Neither degree may be awarded until all of the course work for both degrees has been completed. The MBA program is a cohort-based program and LL.M./MBA students will follow the prescribed schedule for all first-year MBA students, which includes a two-week global consulting project abroad at the end of the spring semester of MBA immersion study. In the second year, students will complete the MBA capstone course, KSB 613 Strategic Decision Making, which is only offered in the spring semester. 

After successfully completing one of the 5 LL.M. programs offered at СÀ¶ÊÓƵWCL, LL.M. candidates only need an additional 16 credits to earn a second LL.M.  This option is a valuable way to learn more about a second area of the law.  

Admissions Process:

Applicants to the Dual LL.M. program may apply for the dual degree at the beginning of their application process or as they are completing their first program. Students who have already completed one LL.M. must submit:

• Application to the second LL.M. program
• СÀ¶ÊÓƵWCL transcript
• Letter of recommendation from an СÀ¶ÊÓƵWCL professor

СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Washington College of Law and СÀ¶ÊÓƵ School of Public Affairs (SPA) jointly offer a dual degree program in law and public administration. Both degrees can be completed in as few as 4 semesters, for a total of 42 credit hours. The LLM/MPA is designed for students interested in examining the integral relationship of law to public administration and management. The LLM/MPA provides a broad theoretical grounding in public administration and management as well as a practical education in the analysis and implementation of policy and laws at all levels of government. СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Washington College of Law and СÀ¶ÊÓƵ School of Public Affairs (SPA) jointly offer a dual degree program in law and public policy. Both degrees can be completed in as few as 4 semesters, for a total of 45 credit hours. The LLM/MPP is designed for students interested in examining the integral relationship of law to public policy.This degree focuses heavily on finance, statistics, and theory. The LLM/MPP offers a broad theoretical grounding in policy analysis, program evaluations and successful policy implementation and provides students with the necessary skills to creatively address the political, financial, organizational, legal, ethical and constitutional challenges inherent in developing and delivering sound public policies.
